After making a significant impact within Webcor’s internal legal team, in March 2021 Patrick Kirby was promoted to General Counsel and joined Webcor’s Executive Committee as Senior Vice President and Corporate Secretary of Webcor’s Board of Directors, becoming one of the youngest members in committee and board history. In this vital role, Kirby continues to reorient Webcor’s legal department to provide better project support, work more closely with project teams throughout the project lifecycle, and complete the transition to a more holistic approach to support. legal project and risk management within Webcor. .
Kirby’s experience in private practice as a representative of many of the largest general contractors in the United States, who are linked to many of the country’s largest and most complex construction projects, combined with his experience on the side of business, has uniquely positioned him as Webcor’s General Counsel. He works closely with Webcor’s general, federal and autonomous corporate business units to provide truly integrated legal and policy advice and guidance. His expert advice and in-depth knowledge of construction law are the main drivers of Webcor’s overall profitability and span the company’s diverse portfolio, which spans everything from higher education institutions to public-private partnerships, through major public infrastructure, high-rise commercial buildings, luxury residences, and hospitality projects.
Kirby is particularly passionate about his role as it allows him to regularly visit the company’s project sites and interact with a wide range of the workforce, from blue collar workers to senior managers.
