Although particular attention has been given to the role of public finance, until recently less attention has been given to the critical role that private finance can and should play, if the goals of the Paris Agreement; to limit global warming to less than 2 degrees Celsius (preferably 1.5) degrees, and for developed economies to invest $100 billion a year – must be met.
